A little story time with Uncle Bob.
Our original plan was to go from Oklahoma City to Memphis but shortly after we started the day, I discovered that Bella now had a fever. Asher was still feeling yuck so...we made it to Memphis and just kept on driving....all night long...and arrived in Charlotte at 7:30 am on Saturday morning. Scott is a beast, driving it all himself.
So, we made it....barely. :-) We've been here four days and still haven't left the Silver's beautiful home. We're wupped. Asher is slowly recovering and having a blast with his cousins! Bella is sick and mom is sick.
If we had been making this trip in covered wagons, all of us except Scott would be dead.

I am so glad you are there, safe and sound, albeit sick. Your adventures look so fun! Weird that in a few days I will be on some of those same roads with David!
Hope everyone gets well really quickly!
aw man that just looks like a wonderful haven. Those girls are so grown up!!
oh and i am glad you didn´t go on one of those wagons...
Good to hear that you made it! It's great to see the Silvers!!! Get well soon!
Liza- We definitely thought of that, especially when we passed the highway down to Phoenix. The drive from Flagstaff to Albuquerque was one of my favorite stretches to drive, so different and so beautiful (except for the ridiculous wind, hopefully you won't have to deal with that, especially in the big moving truck). Be sure to check the weather (and even http://www.az511.com/hcrsweb/hcrsweb.jsp)
I had just commented to one of my friends in Chicago how much more simple and wonderful life must have been when you could just throw a couple of trunks in the back of your covered wagon and head out into the west. I guess you put that back into its proper historical perspective for me.
