Dr. Check Up Stats

How big am I?
(drum roll please...this is some amazing breast milk!)
17 pounds = 75th percentile
27 inches!! = off of the charts; above 95th percentile
His head is also above the 95th percentile, which means we have an Elmer Fudd on our hands.

Not that any of these measurements really mean anything in the long run - just fun facts. One of our books says that if he doesn't grow anymore in length, at 6 months he would still be in the 95th percentile!

Fight for Kisses

About six weeks ago, I was holding Asher- this is Scott by the way- and we were pretend wrestling: basically I was cradling him and moving all around. And unfortunately, I pinched a nerve in my back and spent the rest of the weekend flat on my back. He won. But now I have been going to physiotherapy and doing a bunch of exercises at home. I have been training. In that context....

But I'm not shaving!

Daily Life

Brent and Scott making diaper wipes on a Saturday afternoon. I guess the grad students welcome a mundane task now and then...

Happy Halloween!

Go Yankees! "My dad makes me wear this..."

Hanging out with Tracy in the rocking chair. Don't be confused - this is not his mother!

Roots of Empathy-Part 2

The class was trying to figure out how much he weighed. They did this by weighing us together, then weighing me and subtracting.

Here they are measuring how long he is and comparing that to how long they are.

Roots of Empathy-Part 1

In the two pictures above, Michelle, the instructor, was demonstrating how hard it is for a baby to hold his head up. Asher has a very strong neck though and seemed to really like this position!

Michelle was showing the difference in Asher's interest of black/white verses colour. There was also a panel with a mirror. He really locked into that one - saw how handsome he was and couldn't take his eyes off!
